This was the country's first Olympic bid in the sport. Doncic was a star with 31 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds in that clinching game.Lithuania was home to NBA stars Jonas Valanciunas and Domantas Sabonis, but they were unable to make it to Tokyo.The European team had participated in the seven Olympic Games and won three bronze medals.The game ended in a close match with both teams tied at 52-52 at the halftime. Lithuania employed a balanced offensive attack, with five players reaching double figures in the 40-minute match. Sabonis was limited to nine goals in the loss.Slovenia's third quarter saw it outscore its opponent by 28-17. This was the difference. Doncic shot 13-of 23 from the field, while his team was only 13-of 31 (42 percent) from three point range.Slovenia's Olympic bid builds on its 2017 EuroBasket title and makes it a legitimate power behind Doncic.With two All-Star selections in the NBA and a Rookie Of The Year award in his first three seasons, the Dallas Mavericks guard has already proven himself in the NBA.
