It is not just a haunted house with paranormal activity. The abandoned Kreischer Mansion has a lot of paranormal activity. It is also home to a horrific real-life crime scene. It's located on Arthur Kill Rd and is said to be one the most haunted spots in New York. Balthasar Kreischer, a wealthy man from Germany, arrived on Staten Island in 1800s. He soon built his mansion and had a second replica constructed for his children. Unfortunately, Mr. Kreischer passed away before the construction of the second home was completed. The sons of Mr. Kreischer tried to save their father's brick business but failed. One of his sons took his own life in the surviving house. While the unfinished mansion was destroyed in a fire, the main residence was not. Due to growing speculation about the strange phenomena that was felt within the walls, it remained abandoned for many years. It was then allegedly bought by a Mafia boss. According to reports, the boss's caretaker was found guilty of murdering and dismembering victims in the basement of his house. He then burned their bodies and went mad.In the 1960s, the mansion was kept as a landmark. However, in 2020, the landmark board approved condos being built in its place. The site has been demolished and construction delayed because additional approvals have yet to be granted. The site may not be available for long so hurry if your desire to see the mansion in all its glory.
