It is not surprising that photos of insectivorous or other carnivorous birds with captured prey are rare. Prey are often eaten very quickly after being captured. Sometimes, however, a photograph can reveal what a bird will soon eat. These photos show the diversity of birds that have taken non-piscine prey and are willing to eat it.
