Recently, the airport reduced the cost of access and gates which encouraged Spirits Miami expansion. Southwest Airlines will soon be flying to the city as well.Southwest and Spirit had made Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, just 20 miles from the Capital of the Americas Miami, a low-fare hub. Southwest did not expand in Miami as vigorously as Spirit. They added flights from only four cities that Southwest currently serves. Spirit will be taking on American Airlines directly with 30 routes and high frequency service as they start to operate in the next weeks. These flights are now on sale. These routes went on sale months before the first departure. Due to strong sales and insatiable demand, Milwaukee passengers will have more options when the launch day arrives.John Kirby, Vice-President of Network Planning, made these remarks about Spirit Tripling departures from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.John Kirby, Vice President, Network Planning, Spirit Airlines, stated that we see a bright future filled with new opportunities for travel in Badger State. We are excited to almost triple the number of nonstop, convenient flights to exciting destinations. We are excited to welcome more Milwaukee guests to the sun and sand destinations. This will allow us to bring tourists from all over Wisconsin to experience Wisconsin's fantastic festivals, sports scene, and outdoor activities. These are the new Spirit Milwaukee locations, frequencies, launch dates, and other information:Destination Frequency Date Las Vegas (LAS), Daily June 24, Los Angeles (LAX), Daily June 24, Orlando (MCO), Daily June 24, Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Daily June 24, Fort Myers (RSW), Daily Nov. 17, Phoenix (PHX), Daily Nov. 17, Tampa (TPA), Daily Nov. 17. Cancun (CUN), 3x Weekly Dec. 23Incredible GrowthSpirit Airlines has emerged as the dominant player in the leisure market after the COVID-19 shut downs. Spirit Airlines has expanded its flights to almost every market and added 12 new gateways.Although many domestic carriers have experienced temporary growth, such as United adding Florida nonstops to outstation markets from Florida, some have been discontinued. Even fewer domestic carriers will be able to continue operating internationally if they have to reduce their capacity at popular destinations. Frontier Airlines and Spirit have a great opportunity to sell meaningful growth and increase market share by refocusing their efforts elsewhere.Spirit has already taken 16 A320 family planes this year, and will add 21 more next year. All of these aircraft appear to be dedicated for growth. This is good news for the Spirit Airlines stock price, which has performed well. Although I don't currently own Spirit stock, I would love to have it. The airline keeps on winning.ConclusionSpirits Miami launches are nearing, and I am still impressed more than when it was announced. This is a huge expansion, but when you add in all the new frequencies, stations and route increases, it's certainly growing quickly. This is a good sign for Milwaukee, specifically. Tickets are selling, which means growth for the city and jobs as well as travelers. What do you think? What route is the best to get from one city to another?
