Team Trump's conservative GETTR app looks suspiciously like Twitter

Team Trump has unveiled GETTR, a new social media app called "GetTR" on Thursday.The app is very similar to Twitter, which many right-leaning people found offensive.GETTR's homescreen, posts and user profiles look almost identical to Twitter.Check out more stories from Insider's business page.A second alternative Twitter option has emerged from the right, as conservatives are banned and kicked out of social media platforms.As Politico reported, Team Trump released a beta version of GETTR Thursday as a response to what many right-leaning people claim is censorship against conservatives on large online platforms. Twitter and Facebook exiled Donald Trump for his involvement in the January 6 Capitol Insurrection.Insider downloaded the app and found something very strange. It looks almost exactly like Twitter, which conservatives have criticised.It also ranks No. 1 in Apple's AppStore rankings. App Annie says 16 users, including conservative news outlet Newsmax and Republican Senator Josh Hawley, Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and former Vice President Mike Pence. Trump is not expected to join, as he plans to create his own social platform.These are three ways that GETTR can look just like Twitter. Twitter declined to comment on this story.
