His original five-year contract, signed in April 2016, expired at the conclusion of the 2020-21 season.Ham has been an interview candidate for many teams looking to hire a head coach since his youth, but the 47 year-old has yet find the right match.Adrian Wojnarowski, ESPN's reporter, reported that Texas Tech, Ham’s alma mater in Texas, was granted permission by the Bucks to interview him. The Red Raiders hired Mark Adams, a long-serving assistant.Wojnarowski mentioned last month that Ham was one of the Boston Celtics' candidates. Ime Udoka was an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets and ended up being offered the job.For the past eight seasons, Ham has been Mike Budenholzer's top assistant. For the 2013-14 season, he joined Budenholzer as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks. He is a veteran of the NBA for eight years and has been with the Bucks for the last three years.As the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Wizards reached the playoffs. With a record of 34-38, the Wizards were the 8th seed in Eastern Conference. They beat the Indiana Pacers in their second game of the playin tournament to reach the field.Brooks' guidance, Washington reached the postseason three times.
