Conor McGregor: Dustin Poirier Will 'Pay' for Trash Talk Before UFC Trilogy Fight

McGregor, however, was not having it and told Poirier during an Instagram Live Q&A that McGregor's words would come back to haunt him on July 10.McGregor stated that he has been talking a lot lately (h/t MMA Junkies Mike Bohn). That's certain. This is not going to be pleasant.Poirier performed a lot of leg kicks to hobble McGregor last January. He also set up a knockout along McGregor's fencing line in the second round. This was followed by an interview with ESPN's Brett Okamoto, in which Poirier spoke out about McGregor's tactics.Poirier asked. What if the first one to be knocked out is a dusty b---h. This is mixed martial art. All of it. It makes me feel insecure.McGregor will need a win next week to get his career back on track. McGregor, a former UFC champion, is currently 3-3 in six fights after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov (and Nate Diaz) and Poirier. In his MMA career, the Irishman has never lost back-toback bouts.He doesn't intend to start now.McGregor stated that he has been hard at work.
