Ethan Miller/Getty ImagesIn their quest to become a NBA franchise, the Harlem Globetrotters will do anything to get there. The world-famous basketball ambassadors shared their love for their home in a tweet on Saturday. They also said they are open to suggestions about moving if the NBA adds them as the 31st team. This wouldn't be the first time that Globetrotters have moved cities. The original team played on Chicago's southside, where it was founded in 1926. Although the team adopted the New York Harlem Globetrotters name in 1928, it was mostly used for touring. The club did not relocate to Harlem until 1968, more than 40 years after it was founded. However, in 1929, the Harlem Globetrotters were officially established.Even in 2021 the corporate offices of the team are in suburban Atlanta.Although New York might not need another NBA team, the Globetrotters don't have to be tied to one location.
