Watch the first trailer for the Star Wars: Visions anime anthology

LucasFilm presented the first glimpse of Star Wars: Visions at an Anime Expo Lite Panel. This anthology will feature short animated films set in a faraway galaxy. This sneak peek showcased a wide range of visual styles, including a rock opera, a chibi Boba, straw-hatted droids, and a twin Star Destroyer.James Waugh, LucasFilm executive producer, stated that we wanted to allow these creators to explore Star Wars' galaxy. This panel was meant to be as authentic to both the creators and the studios as possible. This was their vision. It riffed off all the Star Wars elements that inspired them.The following shorts were announced at the event and the studios that are working on them:The Duel of Kamikaze Douga (Batman Ninja).Lop & Ocho from Geno Studio (Golden Kamuy).Tatooine Rhapsody from Studio Colorido ("A Whisker Away")The Twins and The Elder by Trigger ("Kill La Kill")The Village Bride by Kinema Citrus, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0Akakiri, T0-B1 and T0-B1 from Science Saru (Japan Sinks).Production IG (Ghost in the Shell), The Ninth JediVisions was announced for the first time last December. It is an original series that features animated short films about the Star Wars galaxy.Anime is a major focus of streaming services with Amazon Prime and Netflix both buying big-name titles. Visions will be the first major anime series to appear on Disney Plus. However, fans have demonstrated that anime and Star Wars are a great match in the past.
