AP Photo/Rick BowmerThe NBA announced Saturday that Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley was placed on suspension for one game without pay after shoving Chris Paul, Phoenix Suns' guard, late Wednesday in Game 6 of Western Conference Finals.With 5:49 remaining, the Suns held a lead of 118-92. Beverley was ejected after being given a technical foul.Phoenix won the series with a score of 130 to 103. This was its first trip to the NBA Finals in 1993.Beverley apologised for her shove on Twitter ThursdayThe 32-year old has been known for his ability to be a great perimeter defender and agitator in the NBA.Beverley is a nine-year veteran who began his career with the Houston Rockets.Beverley's averages in 37 regular-season games (including 34 starts) were 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.1 rebounds. In 2020-21, Beverley made 1.5 three-pointers. Beverley also shot 42.3 percent from behind the arc and 39.7 from deep.However, his numbers dropped during the playoffs. He averaged 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.8 threes. While shooting 42.6 percent from the range, and 35.1 from the line, his overall score was just 4.9.The three-time All Defensive selection has an average of 8.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.6 trifectas during his career.L.A. overcome 2-0 deficits in its first two series but could not do so against Phoenix.Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers' star forward, was unable to play in the final eight playoff games due to a right knee injury.The Clippers had high expectations when they signed Leonard and Paul George before the 2019-20 season. However, they have not reached the NBA Finals in either of the previous two seasons and their frustration was evident in Game 6.
