Election Year. However, he is also the screenwriter for all five films including The First Purge. DeMonaco's films have always been closely connected to real life. The Forever Purge is no exception. EW spoke with the director about wanting to add another element to his latest film.AdvertisementHe says that it was no joke that I wanted to tell a love story. It was like, "How do I shake it up?" I then thought of the idea that Purge people would cease listening to rules. They won't even listen when the sirens announce it is over. It's a belief that violence is out of control and you can't contain it anymore. This is what got me excited, and when I paired that with my love story, it all led to the idea of searching for America's dream.Rumours have circulated that this film is the last Purge film. However, DeMonaco has been doing some brainstorming to create a new film.It was as if this was it, America is ending. That was my initial intention. It's going to be my final effort. I was actually able to come up with it about two months ago. I came up with a fresh way to keep the idea fresh and flip it upside down. If the people desire it, the ideas are in the works. Ive laid it out so it can happen. The Purge franchise is a long-lasting and profitable business. Are you ready to trade for something else?
