It inspired me to travel so much, I went to Bruges just because it was there.Bruges is a small Belgian town, near the capital of Brussels. It is small, charming, and truly fairytale-like. The film has a running joke about no one knowing where Bruges is. And the fairytale-ness is incredibly bittersweet. This movie is not only inspiring travel but it's also an amazing movie. Incredible acting, directing and cinematography. Two assassins are sent to Bruges by their bosses for what they believe is a job. They spend their time exploring the small town and trying to enjoy their time there, with little contact from their boss. It's a movie filled with plot twists, sorrow and beautiful fairytale backgrounds. One of my favorite movies. It's one not to be missed!Yes, Bruges is just as beautiful as the film portrays. It is worth a visit. It's a short train ride away from Brussels. This one might make you laugh. This one might make you laugh.Living in Tonga, I'm one step closer to Polynesian Princess status. However, it is still a long way off.Moana, which is set in French Polynesia and based in Disney, follows the life Moana, a young Polynesian girl living on an island in a small town that she will lead when she grows up. Her responsibilities and duties at home make her feel conflicted, as does her desire to explore the world beyond the reef. This is a conflict most travelers have to deal with.We follow her as she discovers her true ancestors and helps her community. The Indiana Jones movies are great, no matter what your taste in travel. These movies are packed with adventure and action. They follow Indiana Jones, an archaeologist who travels around the globe doing all the exciting and thrilling things that you wouldn't expect an average archaeologist.Indiana Jones takes you through Egypt, Nepal and through jungles and rainforests. If you don't feel inspired by any of these movies, you might consider a quiet holiday on the Spanish coast.Books that Inspire TravelThis is one of those books that I read in college. But it's a timeless classic you'll never forget. The Road is the story of Sal, the main character. He sets out on an adventure across New York and across the United States. The best thing about this book is its authenticity. The Road doesn't offer the same adventures as Lord of the Rings and Moana. But it does show how travel is really done. There is nothing extraordinary, amazing, or jaw-dropping. It's about living the experience of travel as Sal does it. It includes the highs and lows, the people and places he encounters. What are you waiting for? Get it!The books are a bit long, but if you have the time and can appreciate the finer points of life, give them a try. Lord of the Rings is the best book to inspire travel. You will be transported to a fantasy world where you will meet many characters, explore incredible landscapes, and experience adventures unlike any other. You might not meet as many hobbits or dwarves when you travel in the real world. However, there are still incredible landscapes and experiences that exist.Funny thing is that The Shire is based in Cannock Chase (a woodland in Staffordshire, UK where my dad lives). They do exist. This is the wildcard, so don't be fooled by The Sex Lives of Cannibals. It has nothing to do even with sex and cannibals. This is the story of a writer's wife who was offered a job in Kiribati (pronounced Kiribas). This small, isolated nation is located in the middle the pacific (not far from Tonga). This is the.It feels like a series diary entries. He tries to understand small island life and then he fails to create a book. Instead, he writes this novel. This book is filled with hilarious stories and real-life examples of island life. It's dry humor gives it a real feel. It was something I could relate to at least some of.BONUS Movie/Book to Inspire TravelMovie & BookThe Beach, a book and movie that combine two great movies is a wonderful way to encourage travel. It inspired so many people that they traveled to Thailand to see the iconic location where it was shot that the area is now protected. Tourism will be severely restricted until the environment recovers from years of abuse by The Beach fans, who were likely looking for something similar but got the exact opposite. The Beach is a movie that I remember being inspired to travel and wanderlust. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a young man who meets some nomads from the west who have settled down in remote Thailand. They live off the land and are part of a small group.Things can quickly turn very bad.It will entice you to travel and spark your adventurer side. It is unexplored, yet unknown, and waiting to be discovered. The Beach may also be the only time that I preferred the movie to read. This opinion has been held since the first time I saw it. This is because the movie and the book are quite different. This list can be used to inspire you, regardless of whether you like movies or books. You never know where they might lead you.Comment below to share the movie or book that inspired your desire to travel.
