Biden White House has majority-female staff, narrowed gender pay gap to 1%

He also hired most of the women who work at the top of the White House staff ranks.The analysis was released by the Biden administration on Thursday in a required annual report that Congress requires detailing every White House employee's name and salary.The White House released a fact sheet that indicated that approximately 60% of appointees are women and 56% of senior staff are men. Individuals from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds make up 44% of appointees, and 36% of senior staff.Gender pay gaps have been reduced to 1%, with men earning $94,639 and women earning $93,752.The White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, National Economic Council Director Brian Deese and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki all earn $180,000 annually. They also make up 47 percent of the workforce, according the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.Biden selected Kamala Harris, then-Sen. of California, to be his running mate for the 2020 presidential election.
