Boeing 737 Makes Emergency Water Landing In Hawaii

A cargo Boeing 737-200 cargo aircraft made an emergency landing in the Pacific Ocean, just off Hawaii. This prompted a maritime rescue mission.Pilots Rescued in the Ocean After 737 Emergency Landing Off Coast of HawaiiTransair Flight 810 took off from Honolulus Daniel K. Inouye Airport (HNL) on Friday at 1:33 AM. However, it attempted to return to Honolulu shortly after takeoff. According to the U.S. Federal Aviation AdministrationPilots had reported engine problems and were trying to return to Honolulu, but were stopped by the pilots who were forced to land their aircraft in the ocean.The 737-200 crashed into Pacoific Ocean, south island of Oahu.The Coast Guard helicopter was dispatched to locate the wreckage of the airliner. It was located at 2:30am by a rescue team. One pilot was found holding onto the tail of the plane and was taken to an area hospital. One pilot was found hanging onto floating packages and was saved by the Honolulu Fire Department.Air Traffic Control communications reveal that pilots noticed something was amiss immediately after takeoff. One engine had lost its power.One of the pilots said that they had lost the number one engine. This was recorded and posted to LiveATC, which broadcasts air traffic control communications.The number one engine has been lost. We will need the fire department. We also have to lose the second engine. It is running extremely hot.The Boeing 737-220 involved in the incident was first built for Pacific Western Airlines in 1975. It joined the Transiar fleet as a 737-200 in 2014. It was equipped in Pratt & Whitney engines.CONCLUSIONIt is scary to make an emergency landing at night on the ocean.
