Masters of the Universe: Revelation Image: NetflixIn June, Netflix released a teaser trailer for Kevin Smith's Masters Of The Universe series, Revelation. It shows Teela (Sarah Michelle gellar) trying to reunite the band after a climactic battle with Skeletor and He-Man (Chris Wood). Eternia was very close to being destroyed. We could confirm from that teaser that He-Man still looks buff and that cars that look like sharks still kick an ass. And that no one can resist the power of a Bonnie Tyler/Jim Steinman song. The streamer has now released a full trailer for the series. It is scheduled to premiere its first five episodes Friday, July 23, 2013. It's quite honest. It's pretty cool. There are familiar characters in the designs and an environmentalism theme with some powerful hooks. Gellar's portrayal of a warrior who has been fighting for his life is a hit with Buffy fans.AdvertisementThe cast is also ridiculous. That's Stephen Root as Prince Adams cowardly tiger friend Cringer. We don't know if it was accidental, but there are two Batmans and two Jokers in the series. Kevin Conroy plays Mer-Man, while Diedrich Bader, Animated Series legend, plays Trap Jaw King Randor / King Randor, Hamill is Skeletor, and Kevin Michael Richardson from The Batmans as Beast-Man. This is not something we find interesting, but it's possible. This is in addition to voice acting royalty such as Cree Summer, Phil LaMarr and Alan Oppenheimer, the original Skeletor who plays Moss-Man. Jason Mewes, too, is included.
