She noted Locastro's speed as well as his defensive presence.Locastro, 28 years old, has been suffering from a slump that has lasted a whole season for the struggling Diamondbacks team. Through 55 games, he's hitting.178/.271/.220 and has one home run as well as five runs batted-in. Locastro has been saved by five steals and solid defense this season in Arizona. It's possible that the Yankees will use Locastro as a pinch runner or defensive replacement.Locastro's addition will not solve the Yankees main problem: their offensive woes. New York's American League representative, who has only scored 329 runs this season is the worst in the AL East and the ninth-worst in major leagues. The Yankees will likely make several major acquisitions before the July 31 deadline. This could just be a prelude to Locastro adding a slugger in later innings.Curtis, 25 is a professional minor leaguer who played for the Yankees' Double A affiliate. Curtis is not one of their top prospects. He has a 1-1 record, with a 3.94 ERA in 2021 and 1.31 WHIP in 2021.
