New York Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner vows to keep Aaron Boone, Brian Cashman amid struggles, stinging loss

Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner promised to keep Aaron Boone, Brian Cashman, and the core team of his team. This was after New York lost a devastating nine-inning game to the Los Angeles Angels.Steinbrenner spoke to reporters on Thursday morning, shortly after New York's 11-8 loss. New York scored seven runs in just the first inning. The Yankees are currently at 41-39, 4th in the American League East, 8 behind Boston.Steinbrenner (51), was clear that he doesn't act like his late father George, who managed the Yankees from 1973 through 2008 and changed managers 21 times."He did that a lot. People forget that it often didn't work and didn't help. He was often criticized for it. Steinbrenner stated. Steinbrenner said, "So I believe in seeing the entire work of an employee, regardless of their department. We do this year after year, year after year, and year after year."Even if somebody is in the middle or end of a contract, I will look at their performance at the end and decide whether to continue or not with that person. It doesn't matter if they are under contract. It's not a good idea to make a knee-jerk decision to please someone or something in the middle of a calendar year.On Thursday, the Yankees also acquired Tim Locastro, an outfielder from the Arizona Diamondbacks, in exchange for Keegan Curtis, a right-hander.Locastro, 28, is a career.234 hitter.
