They were Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes. The Flash still requires someone to work at STAR Labs and remind him to run Barry, run! but luckily, there are a few familiar faces who will be staying on for the eighth season. Deadline reported that Jesse L. Martin and Candice Patton have signed new deals to remain on the show for an additional year.AdvertisementMartin is Joe West, Barry's adoptive father, as well as father-in-law. Patton plays Iris West Allen, Barrys wife, briefly a superhero, and Panabaker is Dr. Caitlin snow, a.k.a. Former(?) Killer Frost is a supervillain. They also appeared in many Arrowverse crossovers as different people or versions of the same person.Grant Gustin (the Flash) was under contract for the eighth season. However, that means that everyone's contracts will end at the same moment, which suggests something about the future. Although The CW has not yet said if The Flash will be ending after its eighth season but that's how long Arrow ran for. Black Lightning is one and Supergirl will end after the current season. This could mean we may soon see the end of an era in The CW's superhero shows. Despite the fact that Superman & Lois are still on, Batwoman and Superman continue to run, and DCs Legends Of Tomorrow will hopefully live longer than the sun, it's not like The Arrowverse. However, it is becoming increasingly strange to call it that after Arrow has been off for a while. Fans might be able to call it the DCs Legends Of Tomorrowverse if The Flash does indeed end after eight seasons. It's easy to say, right?
