Sony buys a studio known for porting games to PC

Sony just purchased another studio. It's not Bluepoint Games. The company announced Thursday the acquisition of Nixxes Software - a Dutch developer who is best known for helping Crystal Dynamics, IO Interactive, and Eidos Montreal port some of their games to PC. Jurjen Katsman (founder and senior director for development at Nixxes) said that they are eager to get to work.Sony is expected to increase its efforts to bring more exclusive titles to Windows with the deal. The company has released Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone to Steam, and Epic Games Store in the past year. Jim Ryan, Sony's president and CEO, stated that more of his first-party games will be coming to the PC in future. Sony also acquired Returnal developer Housemarque earlier this week.
