New MacBook Pros to Launch in September Alongside iPhone 13

The last few months have been difficult for MacBook Pro fans. Rumours of a new MacBook Pro 14 and a refreshed MacBook Pro 16 have circulated for what seems like forever. However, there have been a number of possible launch dates without any glimpses of a new Apple laptop. Another release date is now possible.DigiTimes reports that Apple is preparing to unveil its new MacBook Pro models in the third quarter. DigiTimes predicts a September launch. The third quarter is from July 1 through September 30.This is in line with a Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman's recent forecast. Gurman has a solid track record of reporting on Apple news and rumors. In a weekly newsletter, he stated that Apple will release a new entry-level iPad to students as well as revamped MacBook Pros (and iPad minis) later in the year.Gurman explained that Apple's product news will be quiet for the next few weeks, putting an end to the notion that new MacBook Pros might soon be released. Apple could launch the laptops in September, similar to the iPhone 13 which is usually refreshed in September. The DigiTimes report outlines its belief in a peak for shipments of new MacBook Pros in October 2021. This suggests that Apple will most likely reveal the Macs in September, but not begin sending them out to customers until October. It could also hint at Apple's September event, which will be held in the second half September. Apple usually allows for a week between product unveiling and shipping date.DigiTimes also revealed that Apple plans to increase its investments in mini-LED panels. It is widely believed that the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 will include mini-LED screen technology, which would greatly improve display quality. This latest report seems to confirm this belief. The new MacBooks will feature a flat-edged design and more ports (including MagSafe's return) as well as an updated Apple Silicon Chip. This is the most significant overhaul to the MacBook Pro's design since the 2016 redesign.Editors' Recommendations
