Meghan McCain Quits ABC's 'The View'

(NEW YORK), Meghan McCain, whose outspoken conservative views often led to verbal fireworks ABCs The View frequently, announced Thursday that she will be leaving the daytime talk program after four years.McCain's daughter, Senator John McCain of Arizona, made it clear on air that she would be leaving the show after the season ended in July. McCain stated that she will still be present for a month.The commentator, 36 years old, is often the only conservative voice in the group of five women. She doesn't hesitate to disagree with the others. She has had a number of heated exchanges over the past two-months with Whoopi Goldberg, her lead host, and Joy Behar, her frequent foil.Barbara Walters created the show more than 20 years ago. It features a variety of celebrities and, most importantly, the combustible topics session, where they discuss the day's news.The hosts, like many other television shows during the COVID-19 epidemic, have been appearing online rather than meeting in New York. McCain, a married conservative commentator Ben Domenech, and mother to a daughter, said that she did not want to move from Washington to get to work.She said that this was not an easy decision. It was a difficult decision that required a lot of thought, counsel, and prayer.ABC News stated in a statement that they respected and understood McCain's decision and thanked McCain and her unwavering determination.McCain was the conservative voice on The View. This role was filled by Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who left the show in 2013, and producers had difficulty finding the right person to fill it. McCain said that she would not accept an invitation to join The View, but her father told her it was too good to miss.She isn't a big fan of Donald Trump, like her father. Her job required her to often explain to her co-hosts the thoughts of Trump supporters to her co-hosts.She said that while this is not a criticism of women who have been there before, she knew going in that they wouldn't intimidate her by their strong opinions and I didn't want to be. They are all strong, intelligent women. I had to be true to my convictions, my politics, and not allow the social media audience or my physical audience to influence my politics. Because many of the things I say are not popular.She was never afraid to speak up, and she often made sharp comments between hosts.It was clear when McCain, a CNN reporter, criticized President Joe Biden's treatment of Kaitlan Collins at a news conference. The president later apologized. Goldberg pointed out that Biden's predecessors, she refuses to admit Trumps namenever sorry, which ignited a fire that set off a schoolyard brawl. Both hosts later apologised to one another.Behar reacted in disapproval to McCain's May statement that she hadn't heard enough criticism about the spate of hate crimes against Jews. You are not a snowflake, Missy.McCain, on her way out, criticized media coverage about The View, claiming that the show was covered in deep misogyny, and sexism.
