Twitter for web suffered severe service problems around the globe for several hours Wednesday evening. This prevented users from seeing tweets or other content. Around 10 p.m. ET, the problem began. The company took almost three hours to resolve the problem. Twitter's mobile app seemed unaffected.Twitter Support acknowledged that the issue was discovered at 10:52 p.m. ET stated that profiles tweets might not be loading correctly for some users on the web. We are currently investigating this issue. We appreciate you sticking with us!At 11:38 p.m., another message was sent. ET stated that tweets should now appear on profiles. However, other sections of Twitter for Web may not load for you.It finally said, approximately an hour later: Aaaand we are back. Twitter for web should work as expected. We are sorry for the inconvenience!Although it is a good thing for Twitter users that the service has been restored to normal, the San Francisco-based company is still investigating the cause.We are back! Reload your browser, but the message will remain the same.It was frustrating that people who tried to contact Twitter's support via the internet received the same response. The rest of the page was empty of content. Users who could switch to their Twitter mobile application at this point would likely have done so as it appeared to be working as usual.Disgruntled users took to other online services to complain about this issue, as you would expect. One person said that there were "disappearing tweets". Are there others? Another suggested that people might migrate to other social platforms like Twitter.Twitter experienced what appeared to have been a major outage. As is the case with most online services, it does experience issues from time-to-time.
