After the switch, there is no way to go back to DSM 6.2. So make sure you are ready to jump. You will need to ensure that your NAS has DSM 7.0 installed. To check if your NAS has DSM 6.2 or higher, go to Control Panel > Update & Repair and download any updates.DSM 7.0 is being released as a stable version, so it should be available for your NAS as an OTA upgrade. You can also manually install the stable version of DSM 7.0 if it's not yet available for your enclosure. Here are the steps to install stable DSM 7.0 on your NAS.To download the DSM 7.0 package, visit the Synology Download Center. Select NAS from the Select product type menu.
