Saint Lucia welcomed the first cruise ship since the Covid-19 pandemic earlier. It was greeted with joy and fanfare.Celebrity Millennium arrived at Pointe Seraphine with 414 passengers at 7:40 to the sounds steel pan music, and a masquerade representing a mini-carnival.Plaques commemorating the resumption cruise services to the island were exchanged by Allen Chastanet (prime minister), Dominic Fedee (tourism minister), and Theodoros Zakkas (capitol of Celebrity Millennium) who each exchanged plaques.Three Saint Lucian nationals who worked with Celebrity Millennium expressed their joy at being back home, and returning to their jobs on the cruise ships.ADVERTISEMENTWe are proud to announce the resumption cruise service. They were invited to have more access to the island.8.386 people in Saint Lucia were reemployed within the tourism sector, including 135 tour guides and 1,500 taxi drivers.There were 115 vendors available to welcome cruise passengers.
