This was after the disruptions induced in part by the second coronavirus pandemic.In June 2020, the company sold 36,544 total tractors. Sales were affected by the nationwide lockdown that was imposed to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the restrictions were gradually being eased.In May 2021, at the height of the pandemic's second wave, it had sold 24,184 units.Domestic sales were 46,875 units last month. According to M&M, it was 35,844 units for June 2020.The company exported 1,347 units in June. In June last year, the company exported 700 units.Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Farm Equipment Sector, commented on the performance. "The sharp fall in COVID-19 and related restrictions, arrival and timely monsoons, rise in MSP rates key kharif crop and continued strong government support for all agri-related activities are giving tractor demand a strong momentum."He added that he was optimistic about the monsoon's progress and tractor demand over the next months.
