Nio shakes off chip shortage with more than 8,000 deliveries in June

BEIJING A Chinese start-up for electric cars, Nio, announced Thursday that it had delivered more than 8000 cars in a single month.According to a press release, the company delivered 8,083 vehicles in June. This brings the total for the second quarter to 21,896. This quarterly figure is higher than Nio's prediction of 21,000 to 22,000 vehicles for the three months ending June.Nio's U.S. listed shares have increased by 9% this year. The company has delivered more electric cars per month than the two other U.S.-listed start-ups for electric cars, Xpeng & Li Auto. Their shares have risen by about 3.7% and 21% respectively so far this year.
