Ross CameronThis article will discuss sensitive details about allegations of sexual assault. After a Pasadena woman claimed that Trevor Bauer, Los Angeles Dodgers' starting pitcher, had sexually assaulted him in Pasadena (California), the Pasadena Police Department opened an investigation Tuesday.Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic reported that graphic details of the allegations were made against the pitcher on Wednesday. In the 67-page ex parte document, the woman stated that Bauer had assaulted her twice on separate occasions. He "punched her in the face and vagina as well as her buttocks, stuck his fingers down her throat and strangled her until she lost consciousness several times."According to the woman, she had met Bauer via Instagram in April 2021. She then traveled from San Diego to Los Angeles to meet Bauer in person on April 21. This was she claimed to have been the first encounter. The second encounter took place on May 15, she said.According to the woman, both encounters started in a consensual way before Bauer began acts she didn't consent for.According to Ghiroli and Strang, the woman said that she also suffered "two black eyes", a bloodied lip, severe bruising, and scratching on one side of her head after her second encounter. According to her medical records, she also suffered significant head and facial trauma and had signs of basilar skull injury. She also claimed that she was unable to remember the first encounter, and that Bauer was able to penetrate her anally.I woke up disoriented, lying face down on the mattress. I realized that he was having anus sex with my face, which I never consented to nor communicated with him," she stated in the declaration. Ghiroli and Strang signed it "under penalty perjury of California state law,"Jon Fetterolf Bauer's agent denied the allegations in Tuesday's statement. He stated that "Mr. Bauer had an initial and consensual sexual relationship with [the woman] in April 2021." and that any allegations that the encounters were not 100% consensual "are baseless and defamatory and will be challenged to the fullest extent permitted by law."Ghiroli and Strang approached Bauer's camp for more information.Bryan Freedman is representing the woman in the case. He stated the following to Ghiroli & Strang:The photos proving the unconsented abuse are not lied, but I won't go into details for Mr. Bauer and my client. It is false and defamatory to suggest that she wasn't the victim of the assault. Our client wants Mr. Bauer involved in a medically-appropriate therapeutic process that will allow him to receive the treatment he requires to stop acting this way ever again. It will help her feel secure and resolve this issue if he is open to participating in a therapeutic process that is directed by professionals. She cannot let this happen to anyone else, however. The Dodgers signed Bauer to a $102 million, three-year contract last offseason. They issued a statement saying that they had been "made aware of Trevor Bauer's allegations late this afternoon" and "immediately contacted Major League Baseball about the matter."The Dodgers still have the 30-year-old on their active roster. He was last seen on Monday against the San Francisco Giants. This year, he's made 17 starts in Los Angeles.Over his 10-year MLB career, the right-hander pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks as well as Cleveland, Cincinnati Reds, and Dodgers.
