Adam Smith is the chair of the House Armed Services Committee and said Wednesday that he would contact Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin regarding reports that South Dakota's governor accepted private donations for the funding of National Guard personnel being deployed to the U.S.–Mexico border.When asked about Gov. Kristi Noems's comments on Gov.We are going to make sure that the Armed Services Committee has a chairman. Smith stated, "How can we stop it?"
