It is not easy to travel to Orlando in order to visit Universal. It's not as easy as using Floo Powder to get to Harry Potters Diagon Alley. Or having your Minions prepare for your Gru trip. The week leading up to your trip you are exhausted. You make sure that everything is in order at work, at home, and at home. You've been up late and not gotten enough sleep. You are the perfect candidate for the flu or cold. What happens next? A runny nose, stuffy nose, and constant coughing. You might have an eye infection, ear infection, or stomach flu. No matter what the reason, it's not fun to get sick while you are visiting Orlando. This is supposed to be a place where you can vacation like you mean it.There are many ways that you can get back to your health and wellness in Orlando. These are some tips to help you get started:Contact Your Local Health Care ProviderYou can contact your primary care provider to explain your situation. They may be able to give you a prescription to a local pharmacy if it is a minor problem such as pink eye, ear infections, or a chest cold. They will have your information already on file so you can pick up your order at the store, just as you would at home.Telemedicine is availableMany insurance plans offer access to a Teledoc, Doctor on Demand, or similar service because of COVID. You can talk to a doctor over the phone or FaceTime chat and receive a recommendation. These providers can also send prescriptions to a pharmacy on your behalf. You may not have to pay a consultation fee, but it could be included in your coverage. To see if you are eligible, bring your card and call the customer service line. A Walgreens App can be used to access a virtual doctor. The fee for an assessment varies, but may not exceed $49. Nemours CareConnect is another option for telemedicine if your child is sick. Even if your child has swimmer's ear or sore throat, their doctors can treat it right from your phone.Find a local pharmacy clinicThere are many pharmacies around the area that have Nurse Practitioners and Physician assistants available. They can help with basic issues and even write prescriptions. You should check with your insurance to determine which locations are covered. However, the fees for Urgent Care and Emergency Room visits are much lower.CVS MINUTECLINIC7599 WEST SAND LAKE ROADORLANDO, FL 32219Local Walk-In ClinicsYou can also find many walk-in clinics in the Universal Orlando area.
