He won 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 on a Centre Court surface which continues to pose problems underfoot.Djokovic will next play Andreas Seppi, or qualifier Denis Kudla. He called his performance almost flawless, despite making only six errors unforced. He said, "Kevin's a great player. Very dangerous on grass courts and fast courts." "Obviously, a straight-set win today, but only one break in each of the sets was enough. I was able to hold my serve very comfortably."Once we get in the rally, we have a better shot at winning. This was one of my tactical goals: try to make as few unforced mistakes as possible. Kevin was going for big serves and I knew I wouldn't have many chances to break Kevin's serve. I have done a lot better than I expected."I believed in myself, but it was almost flawless performance today."Djokovic was the first player to reach the third round, despite the tournament still having to catch up with the first-round matches due to the rain-affected opening days. This was the fourth SW19 match between Djokovic, South African Anderson. Their last meeting in 2018 saw Anderson win in three sets.Anderson, a big-serving player who underwent knee surgery in 2020, never appeared to be a problem. His performance was littered in errors and he did not force a break point. He only managed to save half of the opponents he faced in a dominating display from his opponent.Novak Djokovic was unable to navigate the Centre Court's slippery surface.Djokovic's biggest problem was the grass.Centre Court was troubled on Tuesday by tournament-ending injuries to Serena Williams (after slips), and these problems continued into Wednesday.Wimbledon claims its courts are "as great as they have ever been", in response to growing criticism. However, Djokovic lost his grip on the grass frequently, much to his frustration. In his interview on court, he stated that he seems to have a very good connection with grass. "I don’t remember falling as much in the first two rounds at Wimbledon," he said.Djokovic was frustrated halfway through the first set, after several falls. But, it proved to be the turning point. He used his agitation to win 12 consecutive points to end the set.His control increased in the second set. Anderson, 6ft 8in, was sent in all directions. While Anderson, the Grand Slam runner up, did drop a few aces at start of third set, Djokovic won due to his inability at the net and 25 unforced mistakes.
