After bidding $375,000 at an auction hosted by The Prop Store, the iconic hat from Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom will now be owned by someone. His fedora was almost as reliable as Jones' whip and became an essential wardrobe piece for the adventurers throughout the series.AdvertisementThe Herbert Johnson Hat Company created the fedora, which was slightly modified from the original film's version. Herbert Johnson worked closely with Anthony Powell, costume designer, and Joanna Johnston, assistant costume designer to create the updated version that included a tapered crown. This was different from the previous film. The fedora is in great condition with light wear and some signs of age. It comes in a plastic box.This is Harrison Ford's second worn fedora in Indiana Jones. It was sold by The Prop Store. The Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981), fedora was sold for over $500,000 in 2015. The Prop Store originally estimated that the Temple Of Doom fedora sale would fetch between $150,000 and $200,000. The identity of the high-roller who bought the hat is not known.The auction also included a number of mystical stones as well as a clapperboard with Frank Marshall's name. Yesterday, The Prop Store sold many iconic film items, including Captain Picard's flute from Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Inner Light and original Statler and Waldorf puppet head from The Muppets. The Prop Store sold some other high-end items, such as the statuette from the Maltese Falcon which sold for $4 million and Luke Skywalker's lightsaber which sold for $450,000.Ford will wear the fedora for Indiana Jones' fifth installment, currently in production.
