Giannis Helped off Court After Suffering Apparent Knee Injury in Bucks vs. Hawks

Shams Charania, of The Athletic and Stadium, stated that he had a hyperextended right knee and was ruled out by the Bucks.Mike Budenholzer, Bucks' head coach, told reporters that he did not have any updates on Antetokounmpo's injury and said "we'll be seeing how he's tomorrow." ESPN's Malika Andrews reported that Antetokounmpo would be having further imaging of the knee on Wednesday. Farbod Esnaashari, Bleacher Report, and Sports Illustrated reported that sources within the Bucks organization believe Giannis has suffered a "severe injury to his ACL."Budenholzer stated that Antetokounmpo had been experiencing tightness in the calf, even though there hasn't been any indication of physical problems in his performance.Budenholzer was able play Antetokounmpo for 41 minutes in Milwaukee’s 113-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks June 27. He finished the game with 33 point, 11 rebounds, and four assists.Antetokounmpo missed 11 regular season games, six consecutively from April 3-14 due to a sprained left leg. Antetokounmpo, who is a two-time NBA MVP, has been amazing this postseason. He averaged 29.2 points on 54.6 per cent shooting and 13.0 rebounds in his 14 starts.Antetokounmpo is a Bucks star, and everything they do on the floor goes through him. Bobby Portis, a veteran forward, will likely get more playing time in his absence.
