Los Angeles Dodgers' Trevor Bauer facing allegations of assault

Trevor Bauer, Los Angeles Dodgers' starting pitcher, is being accused of assaulting a woman after a sexual encounter this year.According to the Pasadena Police Department, the alleged assault occurred in May. According to ESPN, the case could be handed over to the district attorney's office by Wednesday. At that point, a decision will be made about whether it will proceed.Marc Garelick, Marc Garelick's attorney, stated that the woman received a domestic violence order against Bauer in L.A. County Superior Court. Garelick claimed that Bauer had recently assaulted his client and that the victim "suffered severe emotional and physical pain".Garelick released a statement Tuesday saying, "Our goal to stop Mr. Bauer from contacting [our client] in any way possible." We expect Mr. Bauer to be charged with a criminal offense. It is our hope that law enforcement will investigate the allegations and take our client's case seriously."Jon Fetterolf Bauer's agent released a long statement to ESPN in which he denied any wrongdoing for his client. Fetterolf said that the relationship was "consensual" but called the woman's claims "baseless" as well as "defamatory."ESPN chose not to identify the woman, but Garelick and Fetterolf did use her name in their statements.Fetterolf stated in the statement that Mr. Bauer had a brief, consensual relationship with [the woman] starting in April 2021. We have received messages showing that [the woman] asked repeatedly for 'rough' sexual encounters, including requests to be 'choked on' and slapped in face. The woman drove from San Diego to Mr. Bauer’s Pasadena, Calif. residence, and dictated what she wanted sexually to him. He did what she asked."Fetterolf said that Bauer and the woman had two interactions and that she continued to text him with "friendly, flirtatious banter." Fetterolf stated that after the second encounter, the woman shared photos and informed Bauer she had sought medical attention for a concussion. Fetterolf replied with "concern" and "confused," and Bauer was not accusatory.Fetterolf stated in his statement that Mr. Bauer and [the lady] have not spoken to each other for over a month, and have not seen one another in more than six weeks. "Her reason for filing a protection request is fraudulent, nonexistent and intentionally omits key facts and information as well as her own communications." Toutes the allegations that the encounters between the couple were not 100 percent consensual are false, defamatory, and will be denied to the fullest extent permitted by law."Major League Baseball was made aware of Bauer's allegations and will investigate, according to a source. The Dodgers released a statement saying they became aware of Trevor Bauer's allegations late today and immediately contacted Major League Baseball to discuss the matter. Dodgers will not comment further on any such allegations.Bauer, the 2020 National League Cy Young Award Winner with the Cincinnati Reds signed a $32 million, three-year contract with the Dodgers that included two options for players.
