Mississippi State scored 14 runs and drew 10 walk to win the dominant victory. The Bulldogs scored 13 runs, despite only having two extra-base hits (both doubles)Each Mississippi State player got at least one hit in the start lineup, with Lane Forsythe scoring three. Tanner Allen was the top scorer with four runs and Scotty Dubrule led the team with four RBI.The third and fifth frames were big for the Bulldogs. Mississippi State scored four runs in the third. Dubrule delivered a two-RBI double.Dubrule scored another RBI run in the eighth to help Mississippi State score five runs. Forsythe added two more runners with his single.Vanderbilt scored two runs thanks to a pair solo home runs by CJ Rodriguez in second inning, and Maxwell Romero Jr. ninth inning.Houston Harding was the Mississippi State's starter. He threw four innings and struck out four. Preston Johnson threw the final five frames and allowed one run while striking out seven.Wednesday, July 7, at 7 p.m., the NCAA Division I baseball champion will be determined by the Bulldogs and Commodores.
