At the celebration for League of Legends' 10th anniversary, Riot Games announced a whole array of new projects based around the game, as well as upgrades and additional content to existing titles.

The most significant announcement was no doubt the reveal of League of Legends: Wild Rift, a League experience built for the mobile and console platforms. According to Riot Games, " Wild Rift is not a port of LoL on PC." Instead, "it is a new game built from scratch to ensure it is a polished, legitimate LoL experience that's worth players' time." This translates to shorter round times (roughly 15-20 minutes per match), a dual-stick control scheme, and a completely new map. For those interested, the mobile version will debut in 2020 with pre-registration now available on the Google Play store, though there's no release date yet for console.

Of course, League of Legends itself will also be getting new content. A new champion named Senna will be joining the Rift's 140-character roster, described by Riot Games to have a "marksman-like playstyle." The champion will be available on the Public Beta Environment on October 29 and go live on all servers on November 10. Due to popular demand, Riot Games will also be bringing back Ultra Rapid Fire as a limited-time game mode, with the full roster of champions to choose from.

Following in the footsteps of Hearthstone, Riot Games is now launching its own free-to-play strategy card game based around LoL, titled Legends of Runeterra. There'll be cards based on the iconic champions in League, while adding in new characters from all the various regions of Runeterra. The company says that its gameplay is "built around dynamic, alternating combat that demands players use their skill, creativity, and cleverness to succeed." Slated to launch in 2020 for both PC and mobile, pre-registration is now open for the game.

Finally for League-related announcements, Riot Games has announced the development of a new animated series titled , based on two League of Legends champions and "set in utopian Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun." Those interested can catch the release of the series in 2020.

Outside of League, the game developer is now bringing Teamfight Tactics to mobile platforms in the first quarter of 2020, with preregistration on the Google Play Store beginning October 15. Aside from expanding to mobile, TFT will also be getting new champions and abilities every three to four months, with the first expansion coming in November 5, called Rise of the Elements. As the name suggests, the pack will feature content relating to the elementals, including not-yet-seen characters and items.
