Unlisted refers to a video setting that allows anyone to view and share the link to the video but not in search results or other tabs. 2017 saw us release a security update that allows YouTube Unlisted links to be generated. The update also included security enhancements that made it harder for anyone to find the links to your Unlisted videos (if they have not shared the link with you). We are now making modifications to older Unlisted video that were uploaded prior to this update.These changes will include the private making of unlisted videos that were uploaded prior to 2017 beginning July 23, 2021. Creators have the option to opt-out of this security update, and their videos can remain in their current state if desired. We will notify you if your video is affected by the change.
