Portugal clears up confusion over family travel

Authorities have confirmed that children under 18 years old who travel to Portugal with a parent or guardian who is fully vaccinated will not need to be quarantined.This comes after two days of confusion about whether Portugal's new rules for entry were applicable to young people.Adults must be kept in quarantine for 14 day unless they can show that they have received the second dose of vaccine at least two weeks before arriving.The Foreign Office confirmed that children 12 years old and older must pass a negative Covid-19 test.It must be either a PCR test that was taken 72 hours prior to their departure or a lateral flow testing that was taken 48 hours prior to departure.The FCDO stated that you must present your test certificate to board your flight to Portugal. If you do not have your test certificate, your airline will likely deny you boarding. Before you fly, check with your airline.These rules apply to Portugal's mainland, which is currently on an amber list.
