Hailing Founding Fathers is 'Structural Racism,' National Archives Says

Apparently, structural racism is evident in the way we celebrate and venerate Founding Fathers. This is the conclusion to a document that was released by the National Archives and Records Administration taskforce on racism. The National Archives and Records Administration (Federal Agency) is charged with maintaining our country's historical and governmental records, including the Declaration of Independence.Although the lengthy internal document was completed in April but not released until this month, it does not mention critical race theory directly. However, it uses all of critical-race theory's buzzwords and lingo as well as its style of analysis. It focuses on white privilege, systemic racism and equity many times. It is no surprise that it also mentions the dubious 1619 Project of the New York Times and IbramX. Kendi who claim to be anti-racists but whose ideas resemble racism. The Rotunda of the Capitol Building is itself deeply problematic. It lauds rich white men in the nation's founding, while marginalizing BIPOC [Black and Indigenous People of Color], women and other communities. In the name of equity, diversity, and inclusion, the National Archives task force recommended that drastic changes be made to how the Founding Fathers and our founding documents are presented to the public.Trigger warnings could be used to warn audiences about content that can cause severe psychological and physiological symptoms. The report states that providing an advisory notice to users allows us to minimize harm and contextualize records. It provides a forum for us to communicate our ultimate goals in reparative description with the public, show our commitment to the process and address any obstacles that may prevent us from achieving them (e.g., the scope and size of the catalog, our ever-evolving knowledge about what is harmful). However, the National Archives racism taskforce seems a little behind the times.Brandeis University labelled the trigger warning phrase itself as offensive and violent language. In order to ensure an equitable and inclusive future, trigger warnings will be needed.Visitors to the Rotunda should see something other than our Founding Fathers. The task force suggests performing art or dance that interprets the founding era and invites dialogue.Lin Manuel Miranda, the creator of Hamilton on Broadway, may seem like the perfect person to create such a dance. But he is also problematic right now. Mirandas new venture was not sufficiently diverse to warrant its cancellation.Ah, well. The authors of the report call for safe spaces in all National Archives facilities to reinforce the obvious. The absurdity of this report speaks for itself. The war against history was always going be a part of our founding documents and not just our founders. Our elite institutions are busy sifting through every trace of connection between America today and our racist, hateful past.Is it possible to acknowledge the accomplishments and flaws of heroes from the past while not treating them as villains? They must be ripped down and their accomplishments portrayed as a plot to oppress others. This is a clear indication of how deeply this ethos permeates our elite institutions. Even the National Archives, which houses our most revered founding documents, now focuses on creating some sort of hall of shame. This development has a positive outcome. It is that Americans are finally waking up and realizing the fanaticism, racial essenceism and hate that has been propagated in schools and other institutions for so long. They are becoming more aware of the fact that elite institutions have been poisoned with a toxic ideology that makes us more racists and hateful than ever before. In times like these, it is worth recalling that the national anthemanother thing that the woke fanatics wantto abolish was not created after our victory over our enemies. It was not written at the time that America was threatened with defeat by a powerful superpower. The flag was still visible even though defeat looked imminent and the capital of the nation had been set on fire. The Star-Spangled Banner, a song of defiance during times of crisis, is the Star-Spangled BannerAs we gaze into the nihilistic woke abyss created by our elite ruling class, Americans must be defiant towards absurdity. The Constitution and Declaration of Independence, in the end, are more than just a collection of outdated notions and ill-reputed documents. They were created by men who can now be described as racists. There is no hall of shame that can ruin the reputation of those men or documents. They cannot be erased from the minds and hearts of the millions of Americans who still hold them in high esteem. We will be able to see how true this is at this year's celebration of Independence Day.Do you have a comment about this article?
