The Doomsday-Obsessed Mom Charged With Killing Her Children Is Now Accused Of Conspiring To Kill Her Former Husband As Well

They were already charged with the murders of Joshua Vallow, aged 8, and Tylee Ryan (17), who were reported missing in 2019 by their relatives. Although the couple claimed that the children were at home with Arizona friends, authorities found the remains of two children at Daybell's Idaho house.The latest killings were committed by Chad Daybell and his doomsday-obsessed mom, Maricopa County, Arizona. It was reported that the indictment was not sealed until Tuesday, just before Daybell fled to Hawaii.A grand jury in Idaho indicted Lori Vallow, the mother accused of killing her children, and Charles Vallow, her ex-husband, this week.Daybell was also charged with the murder of Tammy Daybell, his ex-wife who died just a month before he married Lori Vallow.The newly sealed grand jury indictment states that Vallow faces additional charges for conspiring to murder her ex-husband with Alexander Cox in July 2019.According to the indictment the two agreed that at least one would commit conduct constituting the offense of First Degree murder.Cox called 911 on July 11, 2019 to report that he had shot Charles Vallow self-defense and killed him.Family members would call police in November 2019 to report that the two children were missing months later.Cox then died in December 2019. Local reports claim that he was found unconscious on the floor of his bathroom by the son and wife. According to an autopsy report, there were no signs of trauma or "suspicious compounds" in his body. He was ruled to have died of heart failure and blood clots.Vallow was reportedly connected with a group called "Preparing a People", which relatives described as a cult centered around the belief in the imminent end of the world. She had been involved in a custody dispute with her husband.CNN reported that her ex-husband had mentioned her mental health in court records. He said she was obsessed with near-death experiences, spiritual visions and her mental state.Daybell and Vallow's religious beliefs were allegedly involved in the murders they are currently accused of. KPNX reported that Daybell had once texted Vallow, claiming that his wife was being "possessed by a spirit."A psychologist found Vallow incompetent to stand trial. Prosecutors said that they would challenge Vallow in court.
