American Airlines New Ways To Retain Your AAdvantage Elite Status Through January 31, 2023

If the cardholder spends $15,000 USD on eligible purchases with Citi / AAdvantage, AAdvantage Aviator or AAdvantage credit or debit cards issued in the U.S., the AAdvantage Gold or Platinum status levels (or Executive Platinum) will be retained until January 31, 2023. Based on your credit limit and ability to keep it, this offer may not be possible.Requirements for elite status in AAdvantage ProgramTo reach the $15,000 threshold to maintain AAdvantage Gold Platinum, Platinum Pro, or Executive Platinum elite status in 2022, spend on eligible AAdvantage credit card cards may be combined. Items and services returned for credit, interest and fees, unauthorized charges and account fees, travelers checks and purchases of foreign currency, money order, wire transfers (and other cash-like transactions), lottery ticket sales, gaming chips (and related betting transactions).The AAdvantage base (or spend miles) will be used to calculate the dollar spend required to reach $15,000. The dollar spend towards the $15,000 goal will be calculated using the AAdvantage base or spend miles (i.e. bonus miles). After posting the miles to your account, you will apply the mileage earn rate to the card type used to make the purchase. If 100 miles are posted to your account and the credit card has a 1:1 ratio of dollars spent to base mileage earned, you will be credited $100 towards the $15,000.This promotion does NOT affect the elite status members with lifetime elite status or members who have met the qualifications for elite status in 2022 (the same or greater elite status as those members had on June 23, 2021). Status retention is not available for temporary elite status that has been granted by promotion.If the member does not meet the 2021 elite qualifications for Executive Platinum and Platinum Pro, they will not be eligible to receive 2022 elite choice rewards.This promotion offers a limited time opportunity to keep your status.
