Royal Caribbean has placed restrictions on unvaccinated guests aboard the Freedom of the Seas cruise, which departs Miami on July 2.To avoid the risk of contracting Covid-19, passengers who are not vaccinated must purchase travel insurance.Restricted bars and restaurants include Chef's Table and Izumi. They also have Deck 3 in the main dining area, R Bar, Schooner Bar and the Pub. They will have limited access to the Viking Crown Lounge at certain times.Non-vaccinated guests are not allowed to use the Solarium Pool, Solarium Bar, or the casino and bar.They won't be permitted to attend the 70s Party on Studio B, Quest gameshow or art auctions, nor the Red Party. They cannot attend the Royal Theatre shows on Deck 4, but they will be allowed to go to Studio B ice skating shows.The Vitality Spa is not available to guests who aren't vaccinated. However, the fitness center will offer dedicated times for those who are.Richard Fain, CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, warned that ships would be restricted for unvaccinated adults on June 7. Royal's ships that depart from the Bahamas, Seattle, Galveston, and Cyprus this summer will not be affected by it, as they require vaccinations for all eligible guests.Florida law, however, prohibits companies from asking customers to prove their vaccination before they provide service. Fain stated that he expected that most passengers leaving Florida ports would be vaccinated on June 7, but that Royal Caribbean was unable to require this.Travel insurance must be purchased for all guests aged 12 or older who are not vaccinated and plan to travel on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Royal Caribbean stated that the insurance must include Covid-19 travel, medical and other costs.Coverage must include at least $25,000 per person for medical-expense coverage, and at least $50,000 per person for travel expenses. The Royal Caribbean's Travel Protection Program package includes the required coverage.Unvaccinated guests must show proof of travel insurance at check-in. This requirement applies to all sailings between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31, 2021 and all bookings except those made between March 19, 2021 and June 28, 2021.The Freedom of the Seas' 4-day itinerary departing July 2, includes stops in Nassau, Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau. This is Royal's exclusive destination in the Bahamas.
