It will never end."Jermaine Jenas, a former England midfielder, said on BBC One: "You've got to feel really proud of these players. They then drew against Scotland, and eventually beat the Czech Republic. After their first four matches, England have yet to concede in this tournament. This feat was last accomplished when they won the World Cup 1966.Fans and pundits raised questions before kick-off, when Southgate chose a defensive team. This left the attacking talents Jadon Sancho, Jadon Foden, Jack Grealish and Marcus Rashford on their bench.Ferdinand stated: "We hadn’t won our first game [at Euros]. That was gone. Germany was still our enemy. That was gone."This team is breaking down barriers. Everyone said we were too negative and didn't take chances. Southgate has a strategy that is hard to beat. These guys play for their manager. It's obvious.Karen Carney, a former England midfielder, stated on BBC Radio 5 Live that it may not look pretty or be the most appealing way to do it but it is the England way and it's getting done."Experienced players have stepped up"Jordan Pickford, goalkeeper, was another great player. He kept his cool when necessary and made crucial saves. He stopped Timo Werner's low strike and then pulled off an aerial stop to deny Kai Havertz, Chelsea's Champions League-winning goal scorer. The Everton goalkeeper was also a hit with the public. He scored a 7.72 on BBC Sport's Player Rater.Jenas stated, "For Jordan Pickford wearing an England shirt he hasn't let Gareth Southgate go down once which is what he keeps playing him.""You can't win games under such pressure unless your characters, leaders, and players turn up."Carney stated: "Key moments-experienced players stepped up. Jordan Pickford was sensational, Kieran Tripp and Harry Kane had our moments. They look tired - I wish they could recover and get back to it."This group has the experience, the fans love it. They have the experience players who know how to do the job.Sterling was praised for scoring 15 goals in his 20 England matches. Jurgen Klinsmann, ex-Germany coach, said: "I'm an enormous fan of Raheem Sterling. He's a leader, courageous and helps others defensively. He is very disciplined and mature in his game.Ferdinand asked: "Please, can we show some respect to Raheem sterling's name?""This is England's moment"The tournament was last won by Germany in 1996, when they defeated the Czech Republic at Wembley - a team led by Klinsmann. He also had some words of wisdom for the current England team.He said, "You must recognize the moment." This is England's moment. It's important to realize that if you make it through the quarter-final, you will play in the semi-final and may have a sold-out crowd at the final. It's not an easy road to the final but it is possible. They have shown the belief. Harry Kane has broken through, and the energy is high."You have to make the most of it and win this all."
