Tyler Skaggs' widow filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the Los Angeles Angels... alleging that the team was to blame for her husband’s tragic passing in 2019.All this is explained in the new court docs obtained by TMZ Sports. Carli Skaggs claims that the Angels could have prevented the death of the pitcher with a few simple steps... but didn't.Carli claims that it all boils down, in the suit, to Eric Kay's treatment by the Angels team... who was criminally charged for distributing the drugs that eventually killed Skaggs while on the road to Texas for an away game on July 1, 2019.Carli claims that Kay was giving drugs to Skaggs, and other players, but the team did nothing.According to the suit, Kay is a well-aware drug abuser. Carli says Kay still had "complete access" to the players day and night, both on and off the field.Carli stated in the suit, "This was a fatal error."Carli asserts that Kay would have been alive today if Kay had been prevented from accessing players by the team.Carli stated in the suit that Tyler was "failed by the Angels". Tyler, who was about to achieve certain and substantial success in MLB as a pitcher, saw his chances of winning cut short by this failure.Carli is suing for damages. We have reached out to the Angels but no word yet.
