If You Have Nothing to Hide, Tucker Carlson, You Have Nothing to Fear

Photo by Chip Somodevilla ( Getty ImagesTucker Carlson, Fox News host, has never hesitated to make claims that have no basis in reality. He has never turned down an opportunity to be the victim. It's not surprising that he claims the National Security Agency placed him under surveillance.AdvertisementCarlson shared the news that a whistleblower informed him that the NSA was spying on him, his staff, and that it may soon leak information with the intent to force him off-air. Carlson did not clarify the exact nature of what the NSA was allegedly planning to leak. He also didn't give any reason to believe that if a leaked document is imminent, the NSA was actually involved and he wasn't playing hide-and-seek.According to the Huffington Post, yesterday we heard from a whistleblower in the U.S government. He warned us that the NSA was monitoring our electronic communications, and planning to leak them to take down this program. This is a shocking claim, and we would normally be skeptical because it's a crime.Carlson said that someone in a position of knowing had passed information about a Fox story. He stated that the details were taken from his emails and texts, and that there was no other source. That's it. This information was seized by the NSA without our knowledge, and used for political purposes. We are being spied on by the Biden administration. We've confirmed it.Emails and text messages are usually exchanged between two or three individuals. His claim to the chain of custody is therefore suspicious. Carlson stated that Fox News had requested records under the Freedom of Information Act from the agency. The conspiracy theory by Fox News host, Michael Moore, has been circulating for months that the unindicted coconspirators found in court documents relating to the Jan. 6 failed insurrection at Capitol suggested that undercover FBI agents participated in the riots as part a false flag operation. This implies that Donald Trump supporters and conservatives have been unfairly targeted by the FBI in some kind of entrapment operation. Carlsons remarks on Monday were at the end of a segment where he claimed that FBI agents knew of the planned riots before he spoke (true but not in a manner that supports his point), and that confidential sources and snitches were among the crowd. It is possible that Carlsons communications were intercepted by the NSA. Then, some Fox News-loving patriots in the national security area took it upon them to leak the information to Fox News. The Trump administration is not the first time that U.S. intel and police have monitored journalists. It is also possible that Carlson may be full of shit.AdvertisementThe Daily Beast reported that Carlson has a history of spewing out squid ink to distract from negative press. He also fabricates stories about elaborate conspiracy theories to undermine his show. Carlson spent a segment claiming that a UPS parcel containing scathing information about Joe Biden's son was lost in transit. Carlson claimed that someone was watching his texts at the time. Strangely, Biden's supposed scoop never happened. However, Carlson will likely leak embarrassing information soon.
