Zoom is buying a startup to bring real-time translation to video calls

Zoom today announced its intention to purchase Karlsruhe Information Technology, a German startup specializing in machine learning-based real time translation. The company, also known as Kites is made up of around a dozen researchers who have ties to Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Zoom did not disclose the terms of the deal but said that it will be collaborating with the startup to bring machine translation capabilities to its platform. Zoom is also planning to establish a research-and-development center in Germany.We are always looking for ways to bring happiness to our customers and improve meeting productivity.
