Disney Cruise Line has delayed today's test sailing due to inconsistent Covid results. The Disney Dream was scheduled to sail two nights on its test sailing from Port Canaveral in Fla."We are delaying the simulation cruise because of a few inconsistent Covid-19 test result, which are considered positive at the CDC," Cynthia Martinez, Disney's director for public affairs, stated. The strict safety and health protocols that we have put in place helped us to identify the problem, but the test results were ultimately negative."Disney stated that five of the nearly 600 Dream crew members who were asymptomatic during routine surveillance testing, which took place last week, tested positive for Covid-19. All crew members had been vaccinated recently and had previously tested negative for Covid-19.Martinez stated, "Given the circumstances and after discussing with the CDC," Martinez added that the same crew members were retested using the same laboratory the next day and were subsequently negative. The CDC treats these inconsistencies as positive cases.Disney has not yet rescheduled test sailing. Martinez however stated that it would take place in July, subject to approvals.
