WireImageJust for Laughs will be back in 2021. Montreal's comedy festival, Just for Laughs, has announced it will run from July 26 to 31. It will include stand-up and in-person performances. To help with travel restrictions caused by the pandemic, there will be shows held in Montreal. However, the festival has also announced that they will have shows in New York City and Los Angeles for the first-time. The festival was completely online in 2020.The festival also announced that Dave Chappelle will receive the Comedy Person of the Year Award. Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence and Annie Mumolo will also be honored for their work with Ted Lasso. They will receive the Comedy Series of the Year Award. Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig will be honored with the Comedy Writers of the Year Award. Bowen Yang will also be named Breakout Comedy Star of the year. The festival will stream the awards live for the first time this year. The stream will be available for free at hahaha.com on July 28thBruce Hills, Just For Laughs president, stated that we were so proud of this year's award show. However, the festival has already announced that the New York hub will feature a free streaming stream. The show, hosted by Dulc Sloan, will feature performances by Todd Barry and Marina Franklin. It will also be streamed online starting July 28. Los Angeles will feature Sabrina Jalees hosting and featuring Yashere Maz Jobrani and Alonzo Bodden as hosts. Liza Treyger, Rachel Feinstein, and Jeremy Hotz will also be featured. Los Angeles' show will air on July 29.Just for Laughs will include regular programming including Comedy Night in Canada and New Faces showcases. It will also feature shows from Kevin Harts Laugh Out Loud brand as well as the digital ComedyPRO industry conference.Many festival-goers will be able to view this year's programming and shows from outside Montreal, even if they have never been there before.
