Good morning, everyone. I hope you are having a great week. In October 2020, as part of my App-O-Rama I applied for the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Business Credit Card. This was on October 25, 2020. The credit card offered 40,000 Alaska Airlines miles, a $99 Companion Fare, $200 statement credit, and $2,000 in spending within 3 months. The short version is that I met the $2,000 minimum spend requirement and received the 40,000 Alaska Airlines miles and $99 Companion Fare. However, the $200 statement credit was not available to view or use. The next six months were spent waiting and following up on Bank of America about the $200 statement credit. This is the chronology of events.I take screenshots of any offer or terms and conditions as part of my application for any new bank account or credit card. This is the screenshot for the Alaska Airlines Business Credit Card I applied for in October 2020.To track my progress towards the minimum spending requirement, I make a spreadsheet for each credit card. I met the minimum spending requirement and was awarded the $99 companion fare and 40,000 Alaska Airlines miles on December 14, 2020.I thought I would get the $200 statement credit on my same statement as I received the 40,000 Alaska Airlines mileage, but the $200 statement credit never arrived. The $200 statement credit was explained in detail. This is why it is important to take screenshots of all applications. I was told to wait between 10-12 weeks for qualifying transactions to post to your account. I assumed that December 14, 2020 was day 0, and calculated that March 8, 2021 would come 12 weeks later.March 8, 2021 came and went without any $200 credit. I called Bank of America on April 8th 2021 to claim that I had not received the $200 statement credit. The agent provided me with a reference number and assured me that I would hear from Bank of America within 7-10 business days. Bank of America did not contact me by email or letter for 10 business days.On April 27, 2021, I called Bank of America once more. The rep informed me that Bank of America had done some research to determine if I was eligible for the $200 credit. He also said that he would send me a letter detailing the details. The rep said that the $200 credit would be posted in 1-2 billing cycles, or 1-2 months later. This letter was sent by Bank of America dated April 23, 2021. It arrived on May 3, 2021. This letter is the most deplorable I have ever seen. Bank of America received my inquiry and has resolved it without giving any details. The $200 statement credit was finally posted to my Alaska Airlines Corporate Account on June 23, 2021. The $200 statement credit will be used to offset 2 seat purchase of $267.98.The $200 statement credit will not be visible in the Account Summary for the employee card. Make sure to look at the Corporate Account.Moral of the story? Take good screenshots and keep good records. Follow up with Bank of America if your $200 statement credit doesn't post to your account. Please leave a comment below if you have any questions. Everyone, have a wonderful day!
