Viking Cruises will allow UK passengers to sail on new cruises to Iceland starting July 24.As it returned from Reykjavik, its summer home port, the line welcomed US passengers.They will both sail an eight-day Icelands Natural Beauty itinerary from early September.With calls in Akureyri and Seydisfjordur, 19 circumnavigations are planned for the country on the UK's green list.Viking reopened operations in May, and has been sailing the UK with British passengers ever since May 22. These sailings received exceptional ratings from nearly 100 percent of the guests.On June 15, American passengers were able to board the line from Bermida.Viking will make its return to the Mediterranean with three ocean vessels homeported in Valletta (Malta), and will resume European river operations with a few itineraries in Portugal and France along the Rhine.Torstein Hagen, chairman of the company, stated: On behalf the entire Viking family of guests & crew, we are thrilled to be back in Iceland. We also thank the government as we restart operations.This beautiful island of fire & ice was the inspiration for the original Vikings to chart new territory.
