Hotel software review and recommendation platform Hotelhero will cease operations after its founding team joined Apaleo, a specialist in hospitality technology.Apaleo, which raised 4.5 million in Series-A funding in April this year, will use Hotelheros technology and experience to revive its app store and improve its overall platform.Florian Montag, cofounder and managing director at Hotelhero, said, "I am more confident than ever that we can accelerate digital potential of hotels around world as we join forces today.Hotelhero was created in 2017 by three alumni of the cole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Julien Schmit and Thibault Gence. Their goal is to bridge the gap between software vendors and hotels. Hoteliers can use the platform to find and select the right software for them. It uses a recommendation engine that is based on market share data and unique property characteristics.Despite the availability of seamless integration applications, hotels still face the greatest hurdle due to limited integration capabilities and missing data standardization. Montag states that Apaleo has the unique ability to make this a reality with their open platform, API-first approach and platform.Get digital travel delivered to your inbox every day. This is because hoteliers recognized the need for a digital platform that can automate operations and streamline guest experiences. We plan to join Apaleo to develop Apaleo’s app ecosystem further and create the first truly plug-and-play app store to serve the needs of accommodation providers, according to Thibault Gence (co-founder and COO at Hotelhero). The agreement will take effect on July 1.
